Adirondack Timber & Mineral Co.

Correspondence of the Adirondack Timber & Mineral Co., Ithaca, New York. The majority is from Titus B. Meigs, Treasurer of the company, to John C. Gauntlett; much of it is on letterhead of the Santa Clara Lumber Company, Tupper Lake, New York, of which Meigs was president.

Adler, F. Charles, (Frederick Charles), 1889-1959

Correspondence; printed material, including articles, clippings, programs; and phonodiscs. A large part of the correspondence pertains to the organization and development of the Saratoga Spa Music Festival, predecessor of the Saratoga Performing Arts Center seasonal concert series. Writings include those of Adler and his wife, Hannah Moriarta Adler. Memorabilia includes financial material and an assortment of printed items, including clippings, programs, publicity, research material, and reviews. Programs include those relating to Adler’s work with the Federal Music Project (1936-1941). Recordings consist mostly of Saratoga Spa Music Festival recordings.

American Locomotive Company.

The American Locomotive Company was incorporated in 1901, the result of the merger of the Schenectady Locomotive Engine Manufactory with seven small companies. In 1955 it became Alco Products, Inc. and was acquired in 1964 by the Worthington Corporation. In addition to steam and diesel engines and generators, the American Locomotive Company also manufactured high quality steel and military tanks, with unsuccessful ventures in automobile manufacture (1905-1913) and the production of nuclear energy (1954-1962). Collection contains advertising and publicity, correspondence, financial records (annual reports, ledgers, etc.), technical drawings and technical manuals, maps, news clippings, personnel records, photographs, sketches and drawings, and more.

Annunziata, Michael R.

Annunziata was an Italian violinist, pianist, composer and music instructor. Correspondence, clippings, writings, published music, mostly from his time in Utica, New York where he lived and worked for most of his life. He was a student of Syracuse University music professor William Berwald.

Archbold, John Dana

John Dana Archbold (1910-1993), philanthropist and trustee emeritus of Syracuse University. The contents consist of personal and business correspondence, as well as research notes and manuscripts on Archbold family genealogy and the life and career of John Dana's maternal grandfather, John Dustin Archbold (1848-1916.)
